My Day of Civil Participation
Not much happened at our house today because I drove to Canandaigua -- about an hour and a half away,to protest outside of Congresswoman Claudia Tenney's office. She actually wasn't there. Since her constituents are so mad, she's closed her office, stopped taking calls, and refusing to hold public forums. I met up with my friend Carleen and gave her one of my signs. My sign was very well received, and a lot of people took pictures of it! I let Carleen keep the sign I gave her because she didn't have one. That can be used at future events. I suspect they will increase in size and frequency.
This event was very well attended. I tried to upload what I recorded soon after arriving, but blogger won't play it (I'll continue to try to mess with it). More people showed up after us. Most cars driving by honked and waved. Far fewer yelled insults or gave us the finger. I don't know that I will drive that far for many events but am glad I saw how successful the recruitment was. I needed to see that. I wish there was more going on in our area.
But me being me, I stopped at a store on my way out of town to pick up a few Flashfood deals! Going to use the asiago cheese on chicken I am making for a dinner with my girlfriends on Friday.
Tariffs are going into effect tomorrow, and that is going to suck. It will hit my finances, but I will find a way to deal with it. I hope other frugalites are able to easily adjust. Do you think the increases will affect you? Is there anything people like me here can do for you?
Oh! And this is what I wore!!!
Thank you and good job!
