AI and Around the House
I was finally able to swim yesterday! In addition to my swim and sauna time, I also sat in the sun for about 15 minutes. No sunscreen! I wanted to get some legit vitamin D. My outfit was, of course, full on thrift. After the pool, I had a quick visit with my sister, then took a trip to Home Depot. I switched to flat denim sneakers for that.
My FlashFood order yesterday was all veggies. Dinner was a pizza made from FF dough and cheese, plus FF tomatoes. The entire pie was probably around five bucks. A very affordable dinner to be sure!
The squash will be part of dinner tomorrow night, and the avocado is in the freezer. The squeeze tube is the equivalent of four avocadoes. At $2.60, this means we are spending 65 cents per piece. Tariffs will make avocadoes more expensive, so I am all for stocking up at this price!
It was time to oil and condition the butcher block, which I did last night. This meant a new "scape" for the middle. I change it every month. The ceramic tiles came with the house. Our kitchen and bathroom used a lot of them and the previous owner kept a lot of extras. I put duct tape on the bottom and little felt feet, so they don't scratch whatever I set them on. I also use these tiles as trivets and coasters.
AI also dislikes our maps hanging in their original *antique* state. It said we should have them in frames. These are legitimate/authentic old Rand McNalley school/classroom maps. They would be ruined if they were framed. I need more books or tchotchkes on the table.
Also, the rug is wrong. Yes, I know it's too small, but it's a super high-quality piece and I will choose quality over appearances any day. AI also doesn't like my couch covers but had no suggestions. It did want us to have a chunkier and more textural throw blanket and pillows. AI doesn't have a dog. Durability is not a consideration, I guess.
Oh, and AI doesn't like the window treatments either. It wants more swag. I, on the other hand, want the ease of blinds that can easily be dusted clean of dog hair. AI doesn't know my bestie is severely asthmatic, and that a number of my decor choices cater to her needs so she can spend time here without having a wheezing fit.
Would you run a picture of your living room through AI to find out what it would want you to change? It's easy. Just download the picture and ask for suggestions to improve. Don't expect the answers to make much sense for your life situation. AI can analyze, but I don't think it can understand.
Our realtor suggested AI to redecorate a home, which I thought was pretty neat. Your pizza and other dinners look delicious and you can’t beat the price!
ReplyDeleteI see homes on the MLS that are obviously staged and decorated using AI instead of the actual furnishings. It looks fake. But I can see using it to get ideas, though. Especially if you have no idea where to start.
DeleteYour pool time and FlashFood dinners look delightful. That AI decor advice is quite funny; it clearly doesn't grasp real life.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Melody! I don't know if there is an equivalent to FlashFood in the UK, but if there is, I hope you have access to it. We save money and it keeps food waste from landfills.
DeleteI imagine AI would implode if I showed it a photo of my house! xxx
ReplyDeleteMaybe that is just what AI needs!
