Staying at Home
The tariff closet is done! I finished my efforts this afternoon. Life outside is cold and windy. Everything is covered with a layer of ice. Who wants to go out in that? Not me!
In spite of all the containers I bought, I still had to get clever. This was a shelf from the door of our old refrigerator. In pulling out all of the shampoo and conditioner, I realized while I am well provisioned for conditioner, we have far less shampoo. As it turned out, I had more conditioner than would fit in this bin.
I ended up pairing up compatible shampoo and conditioner formulas to deal with the excess. Since I decant my product, at least I will know to put the matching formula in the corresponding container. I used packing tape! There were two other bottles of shampoo, which will be for Tommy. At some point, I will have to find a deal on more shampoo for myself. But other than that, I am well supplied.
My loaf of bread turned out strangely. This is going to be hard to toast. But it tastes pretty good. It is very crusty and crunchy, but admittedly a little too salty. I will have to tweak my balance of flours.
My ice cream turned out well. The sour cream helped the texture but adds a little more tartness than I like. But that is not a bad thing with this batch, which I call "Tropical." It's flavored with pineapple and banana, and the mix-in is tropical trail mix. I enjoyed a few scoops for dessert. Cottage cheese works out nicely -- so I am going to work on that.
and... I made my bed three times today! How many times did you make yours?
