Weekend Wrap-up
This doesn't look like a lot of snow... but it was quite the job to shovel it. I had planned a lazy day, but this happened.
We took care of our sidewalk and half the driveway, plus did the same for our neighbors. They reciprocate so it was worth the extra effort. We also worked with the guy across the street to take care of the new girl on the block. She was taken to the hospital by ambulance on Saturday and we are worried about her.
All I had set out to do today, was a better scrub and descaling of our percolator. There was still too much gunk by my standards. I think our coffee will be better tasting because I scrubbed so diligently. I attacked the inside of the pot too. It was a lot of Barkeepers Friend, a Brillo pad, as well as a good amount of time with my battery-powered scrubber.
Lunch was a big pot of shrimp, cauliflower, and Ramen soup. We splurged on take- out pizza for dinner because time got away from me. I painted a sign for a protest being held downtown tomorrow. If the weather isn't too impossible, I hope to go.
We had a fabulous time with friends on Saturday. I wore my sparkle as planned. My pants dilemma was solved by a pair of black sorta skinny jeans. My bling was all kinds of white shiny stones set in both silver and white gold. I mixed lab grown sapphire with moissanite, diamond, rhinestone, and white zircon. When you put it all together, you can't tell which is which. It just all goes. Who knows if I am cheap or not? I also wore makeup!
My Monday goal is to dress as warm as I can so the frost-bite temperatures don't keep me from showing my displeasure with what's going on. And I also hope to make sauce...
Looking fabulous, pile on that bling! As Keith Richards once said, If it's worth doing then it's worth overdoing! xx
ReplyDeleteThank you! And I did remove the earrings clipped at my lapels because they were falling off when I put my coat on. Those are full-fleged vintage. My grandmother's!
DeleteLooking good, I really like how you mixed those stones. I hope the weather was good enough for you to take part in the demonstration.
ReplyDeleteGod Bless.
Thank you! The demonstration was well attended - and very very cold!!!
