I don't know where the time has gone! But adding swimming to my routine has created a deficit that I need to balance out timewise. Here's what I wore to the pool on Tuesday. I purchased the skorts off season to wear for dog shows. They allow me to go bare-legged but without the chafe. On days in the high 90's, that's important. But in the winter, they are great with tights -- my lady parts stay warmer because the shorts are built in. And of course, I wore leg warmers.
The benefit of stainless-steel jewelry when I swim, is that it doesn't tarnish. I also do not like to stash more valuable pieces in a locker. Of course, I won't be wearing a fancy piece like this is the pool.
I stopped into Save-a-Lot after my swim to pick up some meat for dinner yesterday. There were six trays of marked down ground pork, which I could not pass up. I grabbed them, along with frozen veggies and potatoes. This meant I had a three-hour chore (a three-hour chore -- sorry about the Gilligan's Island tangent...). I could store all the meat better once it was turned into dog food and vacuum sealed in flat packages. However, it was an exhausting add-on.
I had picked up cans of chickpeas on Flashfood for .49 cents and also had an unopened jar of tahini. Tommy had been asking for hummus, and I had been promising to make some fresh. I managed to do that on Monday. This stuff is better than anything purchased in a store!
I started the dough on Monday but finished the rising process on Tuesday. I didn't bake it until today. Since these aren't made with yeast, the process takes more time.
I treated myself to a thrifting adventure today. The red pants are cotton, and the white ones are linen. While I still haven't found white china plates, these pretty pieces caught my eye. This brand and pattern were last sold in 2001. These may have originally been paired with a cup. They work just fine as a plate too -- and were 99 cents apiece. So pretty for spring! And... I purchased a pillar holder, but it's too late to edit the caption on the picture...
I dressed a little more casually today because I was up early to have my blood drawn for a basic lipid panel. The results aren't as good as they were back when I used to run five miles a day, but they aren't horrible, and I can live with them. My yearly physical is in a week and a half.
Dinner used up odds and ends in the refrigerator, along with some Flashfood goodies. We dipped the fresh bread in it, and it was delicious!
Along with everything going on, I've been giving Frankie her necessary daily walks. I also spent a few hours on the phone with a friend who is now in late-stage organ failure. This lady keeps herself busy -- and makes me look like a slacker. I sure hope she can hold on for as long as possible. She has been a good influence on me.
Now, I've got to try to get to reading everyone else's blogs to see what you are all up to!
