Protest

Here is my outfit for today.  I decided to show my natural hair color because Tommy wanted to come along.  I had planned to wear a blue jacket with this but had to change plans and bring a rain jacket.  The weather forecast was not encouraging.

I protected my sign in plastic wrap.  The weather wasn't bad when we arrived.  This was taken before the actual start time, and the crowd was sparse.  It ended up being a couple of thousands of protesters, but not as many as two weeks ago. I think the crowd size was impacted by the holiday tomorrow, and the horrid forecast.

At one point, the wind gusts were probably 40mph.  Signs were flying out of people's grasp.  Then the sky opened up.  We had a torrential downpour for about 20 minutes. The temperatures dropped too.  I ran across the street from the main group and took shelter on the steps of city hall.  Cold, wind, and rain, made for a pretty miserable setting, but we made it through almost two hours of it.  It was just miserable. But the cause was important!

Dinner was pasta in a butter and cream sauce, using the lemon garlic mix I made this past week. I added spinach for a veggie serving.  This was a huge serving, and I did not eat it all!  But it tasted good.

I managed to sew a table covering, and get the table set tonight.  My bff won't be attending, but her husband and daughter will.  Her birthday is next week, so I have her present wrapped, and ready to go home with them.  She is away for work -- she's a flight attendant and on a trip.

A loaf of bread is in the oven and once it's done, I am going to bed.  I hope everyone has a great day tomorrow!

  1. Oh, your outfit is so cute! I love the white skirt and red, white, and blue theme. I’m glad you were able to take cover during the worst of the storm. I like your sign too. Kudos to you for demonstrating! Your dinner looks delicious, by the way.

    1. Thank you, Belinda! I was so disappointed that I had to cover it with the rain jacket. And that my sign was in a less visible area -- but I needed to stay dry!

    1. Thank you, Linda! I can't get over that none of my friends are willing to show up. It's disappointing.

  4. You look fantastic and your banner is brilliant! Yet again the protests in the US made the headlines here in the UK, well done for braving the inclement weather to make your feelings known. xxx

    1. This movement is really picking up steam. I plan to have an outfit or theme for each one. It's encouraging that the rest of the world is with us on this.

  5. Brilliant. Now is your top red or coral, because I was going to say if red you were sticking up for Canada as well (red and white).

    God bless.
